Manchester’s Aitch is one of the UK rap scene’s biggest stars. His first single ‘Straight Ryhmez 1’ dropped in 2018 and thrust him into the spotlight at the age of 18. His instantly recognisable Manchester twang paired with some of the cheekiest bars in rap right now has cemented his place in the scene, earning him features on some of the most beloved UK rap tracks of 2019, including the remix of Russ Splash’s huge single ‘Keisha & Becky’ and Young T & Bugsey’s heater ‘Strike A Pose’.
More recently, the now 20-year-old Aitch has crossed over into the mainstream with features on Stormzy’s ‘Pop Boy’, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Take Me Back to London (Sir Spyro)’ alongside Stormzy and Jaykae, plus his own single ‘Taste (Make It Shake)’ which reached number two on the UK Chart.
Ahead of his first Australian tour, we caught up with Aitch to get his guide to the top five rappers from the Manchester scene.
